On my WTC tour on Saturday, I got my first questions about the mosque-stuff. One came from a guy on my tour, another from a lady who was walking by. They both wanted to know where it was, and the lady asked, “Is it true it takes up the whole block?”
The organization that runs the tours sent out an e-mail saying how we’re to address these kind of questions. We’re supposed to say,
“We are here today to talk about the events of September 11th and to honor those lives lost and to educate the visitors. We are not here to discuss personal or religious views.” Please remember our understanding that Tribute guides cannot offer their personal opinions during their time with the Tribute Center. We appreciate your support of this policy.”
What I wanted to say was,
“Dude, I’ve been trying not to stare at your daughter’s tits for the past hour... but sorry, you were saying something about appropriateness?”
What I actually said, was,
“It’s that way (pointing), between the Amish Market and the frat-boy bar. Don’t get me started.”
I'm literally laughing my ass off over here. I bet you weren't very successful keeping your eyes averted from the farmer's daughter's bounty. Amirite?
