Irene Dunne was not only a great comedienne, see the The Awful Truth, but also a very fine singer (something hinted at in that movie). Before she made it on Broadway and later Hollywood, she had wanted to become an opera singer.
Here she’s singing a Jerome Kern song from The Joy of Living - a film mostly remembered for having to change its title from “The Joy of Loving”, to pass muster with the censors. Still, she brings her charm.
