A scene from one of my favorite films, The Awful Truth. It's very sweet and funny - so a good way to end a year and begin a new one.
The couple played by Irene Dunne and Cary Grant have precipitously decided to get divorced, but still love one another. Here, Dunne attempts to torpedo Grant's new romance with a wealthy heiress, by pretending to be his sister.
Coincidentally, a few years after the movie came out, Grant really was married to an heiress named Barbara - Barbara Hutton - one of the world's wealthiest women - though a deeply troubled person. The press called the couple "Cash and Cary", though Grant had stipulated in the pre-nuptial agreement that he sought no money from her. The marriage didn't last but they remained friends.
