Brooklyn Spoke has a post about WCBS reporter Marsha Kramer, in her hard-hitting street-safety reporting, anti-bike jeremiads, can’t manage to find a photo-op friendly backdrop for her narrative of the chaos wrought by bike lanes.
Let’s fisk just one gem that this frozen-faced hack spews in her fact-free pieces of “journalism”.
A spokesman Un-named and a single spokesman for both unions? A lie right there, but moving right along...
tells me there’s tremendous concern about the traffic congestion caused by bike lanes. Even if a source exists (see above), there is no direct quote, and it’s untrue. There is no traffic congestion caused by bike lanes, but Kramer is puttin’ the canard out there.
and whether it will impede emergency response. Emergency response time is something the city tracks closely Of course, if Kramer had a single iota of proof that a bike lane caused a single delayed response, let alone a city-wide increase, she would be trumpeting it. Since there is not one bit of evidence in support, she uses the future-hypothetical construction, “whether it will”.
Will WCBS News ever do a follow-up report saying the baseless speculation has proved to be unfounded? Will Kramer ever show up on Prospect Park West in warm weather, to show the bike lane packed, while traffic moves freely?
Dont’t be stupid. It will never happen as long as she has the job, because the facts don’t conform to the imaginary movie playing in her head.
