Last night, at Park Slope’s Rock Shop, Lianne Smith and Amy Allison performed a song originally performed on The Andy Griffith Show.
Below’s the source, performed by the Darlings, a “fictional family of musically-inclined hillbillies”, that made regular appearances on the show.
In reality, the musicians were the Dillards, a bluegrass group that had a tremendous influence on bands like the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers.
