Thank the Founding Fathers and Community Board 1 that the mosque planned near Ground Zero has been approved . Hopefully, this is the end of this asinine discussion. Otherwise, it will just be a lawsuit the City will have to spend money losing.
And just what would the radius beyond which a mosque would be ok? Maybe 1000 feet, and no Muslim prayers by groups of two or more within 500 feet ? Now that I think about it, seeing churches next to synagogues rubs me the wrong way. It reminds me of the Inquisition.
Now are the people who will be running and praying at “Cordoba House” “nice” Muslims? Insha'Allah, but I have no idea, and it doesn’t matter. Even if this place called itself the Church of Osama Bin Laden, and had in its center, a flaming World Trade Center, that’s entirely their business.
I once asked a friend and colleague, who worked with me in the World Financial Center, “Just how many days after 9/11, as we were walking back and forth across that bridge, were you looking at girls’ asses?” He said, “What do you mean, ‘days after?’”
May the God, I don't believe in, bless him, and these United States of America.
