Gothamist had a nice piece yesterday on George Willig's climbing up the side of 2 WTC, back in 1977. I recall getting ready for school that morning, and the Today show covering it live.
As Gothamist notes, it's hard to find a lot pics or film of the actual event, and the article says that Willig had "allegedly signed his name on a piece of metal on the observation deck".
Well, back in 1983 I had some out-of-town visitors, and I took them up there. Here's the proof...
